Richard Sextro
Rich Sextro is the current president of the EX-Ls (calendar year 2010). He started his career at LBNL in 1968 as a graduate student in Chemistry engaged in nuclear physics research at the 88-inch Cyclotron and then as a post-doc at the Bevatron. Rich retired from LBNL in 2007 after spending 26 years studying indoor air pollution. He is currently a rehired retiree at the lab.

C. Roger Glassey
Roger Glassey, past president of UC Berkeley Emeriti Association, joined faculty of the Department of Industrial Engineering and Operations Research in 1965 after completing his PhD at Cornell. He published research in topics such as solid waste management, water pollution control, production planning and scheduling as applied to semiconductor manufacturing, and large scale linear programming. Since retirement, he has taught undergraduate courses in robotics and in organization theory. He and his wife Joan enjoy the presence in the Bay Area of their three children and eight grandchildren.

Iola James
Iola James serves as President of the UC Retirees' Association at Berkeley (UCRAB) and as one of its representatives on the Center Policy Board.
Marian Gade
Marian Gade serves as Secretary of the UC Retirees’ Association at Berkeley (UCRAB) and as one of its representatives on the Center Policy Board. Marian was a Research Associate with UC President Emeritus Clark Kerr for 35 years both with the University and through other sources. Together they worked on a variety of projects, mainly involving studies of college and university governance, finance, and history. She assisted with the research, organization, and editing of his two-volume set of memoirs of his years as Berkeley Chancellor and UC president. For the last two years of her employment, Marian was also Deputy Director of UC Berkeley’s Center for Studies in Higher Education.
Marian is active both organizationally and playing/singing music with the San Francisco Folk Music Club. She is a 50+ year Girl Scout, a former president of the SF Bay area council, and is also currently a member of a committee recommending a governance structure for a new consolidated Northern California council. Marian is a former whitewater kayaker and kayaking trainer. Other long-time interests and activities include being a ham radio operator involved in west Contra Costa County emergency preparedness efforts, the chair of the Council of University of California Retiree Associations (CUCRA), president of UCRAB, and the grandmother of a wonderful 2-year-old girl.

Patricia Pelfrey
Patricia A. Pelfrey is Assistant to the President, Emerita, and president of PARRA, the President’s and Regents’ Retiree Association. She retired from the Office of the President in 2002 after 32 years as a member of the immediate staff of five University of California presidents. A research associate at UC Berkeley’s Center for Studies in Higher Education, she is co-author of A Brief History of the University of California and editor of The Pursuit of Knowledge: Speeches and Papers of Richard C. Atkinson. Having recently completed a book on the 1995-2003 administration of UC President Atkinson, she looks forward to returning to her long-delayed PhD dissertation as a graduate student in the UCB English department. Her favorite pastimes are books, friends, movies, dining out, and thinking about gardening (as opposed to actually doing it).
Keith Sexton
Keith Sexton serves as the UC Office of the President and Regents Retirees’ Association representative for the Policy Board. He retired in 1994 after working 23 years at UC with his last appointment being statewide Dean of the University Extension and Summer Sessions programs. Currently, Keith serves on the Executive Committee for PARRA, and the UCOP Advisory Committee on Health Care Facilitator. Other activities include volunteering at the Moraga Library and enjoying his grandchildren. He received his B.A. in Political Science and his M.A. in South Asian Studies at UC Berkeley.

Calvin Moore is Profesor Eemeritus of Mathematics, and has been on campus since 1961. He has served as Department Chair, Deputy Director of MSRI, Dean of Physical Sciences and as Associate Vice President in the Office of the President, in addition to sevice on several Academic Senate Committees.
